Description
Fujifilm Superia X‑TRA 800 is a discontinued high‑speed colour negative film with a very recognisable Fuji palette. Even as an expired stock, this cold‑stored batch delivers punchy colour, strong blues and greens and a nostalgic, slightly wild character.
Age has introduced some fog and quirks, which is why we recommend heavy over‑exposure. Shot correctly, it produces vivid, contrasty frames with a look quite different from modern colour negative films — ideal if you want something rougher and more experimental.
BEST RESULTS
- Best shot at around EI 200 (about 2 stops overexposed from box speed)
- Process in C‑41 like any standard colour negative film
- Works well in daylight or evenly lit scenes; avoid very low‑light if you want clean results
- Not recommended if you need neutral, predictable colour — this is for character
